IFLR 1000 (International Financial Law Review) 2009

IFLR1000 2009 lists Vasil Kisil & Partners as one of Ukraine’s financial and corporate law firms at the top of its profession.

Compiled by a team of dedicated specialist legal journalists based in New York, London and Hong Kong, the IFLR1000 is the only publication of its kind to focus on the leading law firms for corporate finance worldwide. The guide is now in its 19th edition, and has grown to cover more than 100 jurisdictions.

This year Vasil Kisil & Partners received notable mention for its banking and finance practice and was recommended in the area of Mergers and Acquisitions for a number of notable transaction, many of which featured partner Denis Lysenko.

Chambers Europe 2009: Corporate Real Estate

This two-partner local team comprises 15 fee earners and is able to handle the gamut of real estate work, including transactional, advisory and construction matters. Its client portfolio consists mainly of international investors and developers, though it also maintains a substantial local clientele. It is widely praised for its experience in construction projects, where it takes on every detail from start to finish. It specialises in residential, commercial and hotel projects, and is also skilled in infrastructure and agricultural matters.

The team is currently advising Seven Hills on the development and construction aspects of a major residential project in Kyiv. It was also instructed by Globus Asset Management to advise on the Golden Beach development, a hotel and multistorey residential project on the coast near Yalta in the Crimea. Oleksandr Khomenko is one of the team’s leading partners. He has a strong reputation in the market for his skills in a vast array of real estate and construction-related work.

Mr. Lysenko joined Vasil Kisil & Partners in 1999, since 2006 – partner of the firm.

Denis Lysenko practices Mergers and Acquisitions, Banking and Finance, Corporate Law, Antitrust Law, Investments, Privatization, EU Law.

Mr. Lysenko has wide experience in representing interests of foreign investors (lenders) in cross-border transactions involving Ukrainian assets, as well as of Ukrainian companies – strategic investors in privatization projects of Central and Eastern Europe, and experience of cooperation with the European Commission on competition matters.

Denis Y. Lysenko is a Member of Kyiv City Bar Association, Member of Ukrainian Law Association, and Member of International Bar Association.
