According to the specialists opinion it is necessary that new companies, electronic and power products should be attracted and represented at the market in the south of Ukraine. The administration of the Odessa Region has approved the Program "The Regional Initiative 2002 ? 2006", which purpose is the renewal of the electro power equipment in the city and the Odessa thermal power station and ports reconstruction and also development of projects of creation in the region the own sources of power supply on the basis of the newest technologies. The growth of the power self-sufficiency of the region is possible owing to the reduction of unjustified charges of the electric power, introduction energy-efficient technologies, optimization of scheme of electromaintenance of area, updating of the electropower equipment, modernization of transformer substations by domestic and foreign manufacturers and investors.
