Established in 1881, Oki Electric Industry Co Ltd. provides electronic devices for communication and information processing.

Oki Electric Industry Co Ltd. was the first telecommunications manufacturer in Japan and today has a consolidated annual turnover of $5.9bn (FY01) and employing over 24,000 people worldwide. Of the 4,700 employees outside Japan 1,200 are based in Europe.

Oki Electric operating divisions manufacture multi-media networks, voice over internet, key telephone systems, radio network systems, optical components, LSIs (Large Scale Integrated circuit) for mobile communications, microcomputers, Bluetooth & production programmable memories. Oki is also heavily involved with some major global players in communication and information processing. Strategic alliances promoting system LSIs and integrated communications networks have recently been signed with names like Cisco, Sun, NTT Data, Microsoft, Intel, Casio and Lucent.
