ADVOCACY AND POLICY

One of the principle activities of the Chamber is to represent the internationally oriented investment community as well as to facilitate the entrance of potential new investors into this market. The Member organizations of the Chamber represent many of the largest companies from more than 50 countries operating in Ukraine with a majority of the foreign direct investment. The Chamber is an active and engaged member of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council under President of Ukraine, the Entrepreneurs' Council of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and a wide variety of Public Councils within the Ukrainian Ministries and State Committees.

The Chamber's primary mechanism of developing and implementing advocacy and lobbying related initiatives are through the active Chamber Committees and Working Groups. The Committee structure enables the Chamber to engage interested Members, over an extended period of time, in industry and sector specific policy related issues. The Committees are standing and many of which have been active for many years. On the other hand, the Chamber Membership utilizes Working Groups to focus on specific issues and bring together Members who are experts on that issue to develop and execute an action plan to resolve the problem and then disband. This structure is very effective in resolving specific issues in a short period of time. The Chamber will continue to strive to establish value added Committees and Working Groups as identified by the Membership.

The Chamber Board of Directors, Policy Team together with Committees and Working Groups regularly communicate on its activity to Members via electronic publications: Policy Flashes, Monday Weekly Bulletin, Thursday Advocacy & Committee Updates and President's Messages.
