MTS Compass

Find out location of desirable facilities. At any time and in any city/town of Ukraine.

The Compass service will help you fast:
  • identify location of the nearest facilities you are interested in (cinemas, clubs, restaurants, gas filling stations, service stations, banks, ATMs, etc.) on a city map;
  • receive information about the nearest facilities (name, address and phone number);
  • identify your location in relation to the nearest facilities on a WAP-map*.
     
* You need to activate and set WAP service to view the map.
Currently, the service is available in 25 cities and towns: Kyiv, Lviv, Velyka Yalta, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odessa, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, Simferopol, Zhytomyr, Uzhhorod, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Luhansk, Mykolayiv, Poltava, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Feodosia, Novyi Svit, Koktebel, Sudak, Uman.
 
An average precision of location identification depends on local density of base stations and is approximately 500 m. Accuracy of measurement depends on local density of base stations and may vary in urban and rural areas in the range between 300 and 2,000 m.
 

How to use?

1. Send and SMS message to 7000 with the text SMS in its body. In response, you will get the list of SMS commands to use for identifying of locations of the nearest facilities.

2. To get information about location of desirable facilities, send an SMS message with a relevant command to 7002.
 
For example, to get information about location of the nearest cinemas, send an SMS containing the text KINO to 7002.
 
Attention! An MTS Contract customer-legal entity willing to use this service should send a request for activation of the Location Identification Service by fax to 8 044 2402400.
 

The Service Rates:

  • list of SMS commands: the cost of an SMS-message to number 7000 is in line with the standard cost of an outgoing SMS-message inside the MTS network according to your tariff package;
  • request for location of facilities: sending an SMS message to 7002 – UAH 2;
  • viewing WAP-map where desirable facilities are mapped: WAP traffic rates as per your tariff plan.
 
The above rates are as of 1 June 2009 including VAT, not including the PF duty.
