Tips for Travellers

While travelling abroad, use your mobile phone in the best way possible!

While travelling abroad all calls, SMS, MMS, WAP and Internet usage in roaming are charged. Tariffing depends on location and according to MTS roaming tariff zones.

Only the emergency number 112 is free of charge.

Before you go abroad:

If you are MTS contract customer, make sure you have opened an international roaming service, dialing *110*51# or by contacting the MTS Contact Centre.

For contract subscribers access to the international roaming opens free of charge under condition if the service is activated in MTS company shops – http://www.mts.com.ua/rus/shops_mts.php.

We recommend you to add an extra sum to your account to avoid disconnection of your number while travelling. Roaming tariffs are higher than local ones, that is why you should calculate the size of your sum depending on the anticipated amount of calls and the length of your trip.

It is not necessary to activate the service of the international roaming to MTS Prepaid subscribers. It is enough to have on the account the sum more than 20 UAH to send SMS and the sum equal to cost of one minute of conversation depends on location and according to roaming tariff zones.

You can to deactivate all conditional forwardings, and also to deactivate call forwarding to Voice Mail, while using conditional forwarding including call forwarding to Voice Mail in roaming while executing technical conditions of conditional forwarding you can pay double the tariff for an incoming call and for a call forwarding – outgoing call. Also you can set unconditional forwarding of your incoming calls to a phone number in Ukraine while travelling. In this case you will use your mobile phone only for outgoing calls. All incoming calls will go on that phone number on which you have ordered unconditional forwarding.

While abroad, you can make an outgoing call only by dialing the number in the international format.

When roaming you can send and receive SMS, provided the network you are connected to offers this service. The most of MTS roaming-partners support SMS transmission.

While using your mobile phone abroad, you can get access to your own Voice Mailbox. To listen your Voice Mailbox in roaming dial +38 050 120 00 00. According to voice hints dial 9 digits of your mobile number (without +380 prefix), e.g. 502400000. You can interrupt your Voice Mail greeting by pressing # key. Enter your password and press # (initial password is 0000).

Forgot your password? – simply contact the MTS Contact Centre 24 hours a day on the following number +380 50 508 1111 or 111 (if the foreign operator you are connected to offers short dialing numbers).

Turn on and register your handset in MTS network after you return home from abroad. This will restore your home tariff plan and prevent you from roaming tariffication.
