Kyivenergo proposes to resume quotas on fuel oil exports, says company head

15:51

OJSC Kyivenergo plans to ask the Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Ministry to restore quotas on fuel oil exports due to skyrocketing prices of fuel oil on the domestic market, Kyivenergo board chairman Eduard Sokolovsky told the press on Friday.

He said that in particular, if in early 2009 the company bought fuel oil at UAH 2,300-2,400 per tonne, today the price of fuel oil is around UAH 2,900-3,600 per tonne. Sokolovsky said that there are no grounds for the jump in the prices of fuel oil.

He also said that due to the present situation on the domestic market, the company would see losses in electricity generation in May.

He forecasted that the expected losses from this type of activities in May would be UAH 18 million.
