How to upload files to the server?
To download files on your Site Server can be via FTP-client, as well as through the Control Panel. Using FTP-client or Control Panel for upload files should be entered: user name and password which you set up in the Control Panel for FTP-access. These parameters are as follows:

Users whose connect to the Internet is carried out through HTTP / FTP-proxy, should upload files using the Client's Control Panel.
Attention! When you upload to a Serverr executed CGI- or PHP-script, do not forget to assign attribute 0755 to these files, and files accessible for everybody — 0777. |
What are the directories on my site?
Directory on the server, where your site is located:
/var/www/virtual/yourdomain.com/
This directory contains the following folders:
/cgi-bin/ — CGI-scripts written in Per locatedl;
/htdocs/ — files visible from a browser located ;
/logs/ — log-files for your Domain Access used for Statistics located;
/backups/ — nightly version Rollback of your site is recorded. It is possible to commit Rollback directly from the Hosting Control Panel.
In this directory files .htaccess and .htpasswd created by means Hosting Control Panel are located. In these files path to limited access and passwords are stored, accordingly. |
How to configure Web Mail?
In the Hosting Control Panel you can create, delete, and edit your own Mail Boxes. Access to the Mail Box can be done through your Mail Program or through a Web-interface.
The user login in both cases should be indicated as a Box full name, that is, in the form of: name@yourdomain.com, and the password is the same which was identified in the Control Panel.
In order to identify box settings in the Mail Program you should set login, password, as well as some of the Mail Server settings, namely:
Login: name@yourdomain.com
Password: ***
Port POP3: 110 (standart)
Port SMTP: 25 (standart)
POP3 and SMTP server should be indicated the same data. The Administrator sends it to you by E-mail Register Letter.
When you set the parameters of sending Mail (SMTP) it is necessary to indicate that the Server requires Authentication (for example, in Outlook Express 6 is called "User Authentication"). In doing so, login and password are the same as for receiving mail from the Server.

Are there DataBases and how to configure access for it?
If your Tariff plan contains DataBase usage in the Hosting Control Panel you should create DateBase User. Then in section «DataBase Management«(you can create, delete, edit DataBases) you should use login and password DataBase User created by Your self earlier. |
What are the Script Parameters?
Below there are some specific parameters, characteristic for EthnoHosting Servers:
/usr/bin/perl — Perl scripts interpreter;
/usr/sbin/sendmail — Sending e-mails from scripts program;
To access the MySQL DataBase from the Scripts you should spesify localhost or 127.0.0.1 as a Server Address.
Also, keep in mind that By Default all Data are stored in the DataBase encrypted cp1251, so when creating and connecting to a Server database you should specify the correct conversion type.
For example, in PHP immediately after the call mysql_connect () you should execute the following functions:
mysql_query ("set character_set_client='latin1'");
mysql_query ("set character_set_results='latin1'");
mysql_query ("set character_set_connection='latin1'");
Also PHP-users should know that for Security the possibility of automatic conversion parameters in the query variables (register_globals off) on the Server is off. Therefore, do not forget about the need to take these values from the array $ _GET [] and $ _POST [] or at the beginning of the script you should call extract ($ _POST), extract ($ _GET).
PHP-fulfillment of the following functions is forbidden: show_source, system, shell_exec, passthru, exec, phpinfo, shell, symlink, popen and proc_open. |
Where can I see my Site Visitors Statistics?
In the Hosting Control Panel you should go to the section «Web-Instruments → Visitor stats«. This statistics shows how often and from which Search Engines, other Sites, Countries or Cities Visitors came to your Site.
In Statistics System you can add automatic receipt of following Visitors Parameters: screen Dimension, checking Javascript, Java, Macromedia Director, Flash, RealAudio, QuickTime, Windows Media, PDF.
