Overall responsible to develop credit policy, being actively involved in product development and product revision processes, providing advice and guidance together with the Retail Risk Manager on all credit risk elements relating to each retail product, including procedures, staffing, systems, finance and funding aspect, and product operations; Evaluate the degree of risk and reward in each major product decision, providing the organisation with a formal definition of the balance between acceptable risks and desired rewards;
Set up and supervise standards implementation – from the scorecards for credit applications to forming and monitoring policies that override those standards in special circumstances – will oversee performance against them and will assess portfolio quality trends;
Coordinate and ensure the proper functioning of the standards of credit analysis throughout the organisation by distributing the analytical tools through on-site visits, professional seminars, and written communications;
Set up and maintain the internal procedures for retail risk management workflow in the key areas of control, organise Retail Risk Policy Committee meetings, coordinate internal and external reporting by ensuring an appropriate separation of duties and independent system reporting lines;
Develop the Retail Credit Risk Management team, as business growth requires - staff job descriptions, department design, recruitment, development, assessment, motivation of staff, aimed to support the development and growth of Retail Banking;
Monitor overall retail banking environment changes, including economic, regulatory, legal, taxation, IT, internal/head office, appraisal, and other relevant factors affecting portfolio quality and performance.
Qualification, experience requirements:
Education: Appropriate University degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field;
Experience: specific retail or mortgage banking experience is preferred. The candidate must have relevant experience in lending, credit, loan documentation, risk management, portfolio management, and bank operations generally in order to grow with business initiatives.
