Culinary master ñlass with Chef Alain Regnault and The Empire Restaurant
From November till February, the Premier Palace Hotel presents an exclusive program for women - culinary master classes.
This is the first time that culinary master classes have been made available in Kyiv. Chef Alain Regnault brought the idea from France, where he conducted courses for ladies in Monaco, Nice and Cannes.
The chef says he doesn’t aim to teach women to cook – an art he says that many ladies already know well. The master classes, he says, are geared toward improving skills and demonstrating new ideas and some secrets to great cooking. Students will learn the proper way to lay the table and, certainly, will meet new and interesting people.
During each four-hour master class, participants will see how the chef creates culinary masterpieces, then have the chance to replicate them and ask questions of the chef.
How many people can prepare unusual dishes that will astonish a gourmet? Participants will create dishes like Tuna with soybeans and lemon, or Langustines with bean puree and fresh green chutney and Mediterranean mullet with bean ragout and black olive tapenade.
The chef believes that cooking is simple, and the primary goal ist to create a good mood.
Two Master classes have already been held, with participants learning the advantages and disadvantages of different ways to treat products. Examples were demonstrated, including boiling salmon in clear soup and preparing sea tongue in deep fat. Then participants prepared toast with foie gras, made Béchamel and tartar sauces, prepared chicken and meat consommés and other dishes.
At the end of the master class, participants are issued a certificate of completion.
