Agrarian Fund asks Cabinet to allocate UAH207 mn from State Budget for foods purchases

Agrarian Fund has addressed Cabinet asking to provide UAH207 budgetary loan for 2006 foods purchases (incl. 2006 crop grain), reported Volodymyr Ovchar, Agrarian Fund Chairman on grain market conference. As to report, 2006 State Budget stipulates Agrarian Fund 2006 financing as much as UAH685 mn (intended for state reserves forming as well as goods interventions/grain mortgage purchases). As to Ovchar, presently Agrarian Fund has UAH152 mn, from which UAH28 mn will be transferred to State Treasury in short time, while UAH85 mn budgetary loan is still to be repaid. Ovchar made it known Fund would assure budgetary loan UAH3040 mn additional repayments until Jul 1. As earlier reported, end Feb Agrarian Fund had purchased 645,800 MT grain (2005 crop) at mortgage prices (incl. wheat 557,600 MT, rye 87,800 MT), having provided agrarians with UAH278,244 mn budgetary loans. Fund had signed 836,700 MT grain supply contracts. Agrarians had bought out 217,000 MT (2005 crop) grain from Agrarian Fund mortgage for total UAH91 mn. It is to be reminded, Fund should purchase in total 1 mn MT grain (2005 crop). Agrarian Fund was founded Jun 30, 2005 due to Ministry of Agrarian Policy/Baranivskiy initiative. Due to Cabinet commission, Fund executes mortgage prices foods purchases for Ukrainian state reserves.
