UNDP, social activity "I promise" has started December 1st
The new project is aimed at the youth and appeals to take responsibility for own behavior and life.
Project "I promise" is a social activity devoted to the World AIDS Day.
The slogan of the activity is chosen deliberately because it reminds of the slogan of World AIDS campaign that in 2005 takes place under the slogan "Stop AIDS. Keep the promise". This is a summon for everyone to participate in elimination of HIV/AIDS epidemic spread and research of effective ways of solving social problems, caused by the epidemic.
The activity has an intention to make young person promise, first of all to himself of herself, that he or she will use the knowledge about HIV and not let AIDS in his or her life. The organizers of the activity created a dialog with the participants by SMS. Today it is the most popular and customary form of communication among youth.
To take part in the activity, one must send an SMS with the text "I promise" to the #5466. Everyone who has sent this message will receive a response: "I promise that I will protect myself. HIV – is the most explored virus in the history of humanity and I will use all information to protect myself." Having sent a message with the letter "I", the participant will receive information about key ways of HIV prevention.
During 10 days, starting December 1st the volunteers will spread the booklet with the mechanism and rules of participation in the activity.
46% of received money will be transferred to HIV-positive children services for the New Year presents.
The number of National Toll free hotline HIV/AIDS issues support will be on the booklet.
