On June, 2008 there was held the III International Forum “Logistics in Ukraine 2008: What does a logistics manager expect from IT?”

To answer the main question of the forum “What does a logistics manager expect from IT?” gathered logistics specialists and experts and representatives of IT developing and supplying companies.
The advantages of automation are obvious. It is difficult to imagine a company which uses “paper” methods of stock accounting in warehouses or transport control today. However, different companies need different solutions. Most of Ukrainian companies are at their development stage now.
How to make the right choice? To develop soft self-independently or to implement ready-made products, what supplier to prefer, how to increase logistics function of a company, those were the main issues which were paid attention at the forum. 
“Forum made us understand that IT companies are ready to offer much more than a logistic manager expects. In tandem “goals-means” IT technologies embody a powerful implement of logistic managers’ tasks accomplishing. And widely presented at forum developing and consulting companies demonstrated their ability of accomplishing tasks of any complexity, a logistic manager has just to choose the executor.
However, as it turned out, it is much more important for a logistic manager to formulate correctly what is really required by his company, what will bring maximum economic effect, what will correspond with specific features of Ukrainian market” – commented Elena Tulbovich, Director of “BENEFFY Consulting” company.
