Dyakin, Dmitry
Managing Partner, Moscow
Dmitry Dyakin became Managing Partner at Magisters' Moscow office in November 2006 after the Firm's merger with Legas, the firm he founded in 2002. He is also Head of the Firm's Moscow Dispute Resolution Practice.
Mr. Dyakin has almost ten years of experience in litigation and arbitration, particularly in energy supply disputes, assignment agreements, and debt recovery. Dmitry has conducted more than 250 successful proceedings with such companies as RAO UES of Russia, Sibneft, Rosenergoatom, and Zarubezhneft.
The recent real estate projects in which Dmitry has participated include: advising Spire Group in its potential acquisition of land plots in the Moscow Region, Miratorg in its acquisition of 19 land plots and over 200 buildings; a Western investor on the privatization of Polief; Cascade Group in its acquisition of real estate properties which were subject to bankruptcy proceedings; and Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan within the framework of an investment in the construction of a shopping mall in Novosibirsk.
There is a number of M&A transactions and corporate restructuring projects that Dmitry has advised on. These include: advising Metupak on the acquisition of Kaliningradskiy Tarniy Kombinat, helping Krista Group in its USD 50 million the acquisition of Plastik plant, and consulting Voronezhavtodor on its corporate restructuring.
Prior to establishing Legas, Dmitry was Head of the Legal Department at the Energokaskad distribution company conducting more than 100 litigation and arbitration proceedings in this capacity.
