| "Environmental Management Standards for Enterprises" is a new project within the Technical Assistance Programme for small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine. It has started in early September and will run for 24 months. Main objective of the project is to assist Ukraine in promoting a process of continuous environmental improvement within enterprises through implementing environmental management practices and systems that comply with EMAS and international standards. Further aims are to support the reform of the Ukraine legislative and regulatory framework to encourage the implementation of environmental management standards by enterprises including EMAS and ISO 14001, to develop local capacity to implement environmental management systems in industrial enterprises, and to support pilot initiatives at enterprises.
Main beneficiary is the State Committee of Standardization, Metrology and Certification of Ukraine. Other beneficiaries are two regional training centres and several Ukrainian industrial enterprises. | | |
