A new book on media regulation.
Kyiv publishing house "K.I.S.", with the support of the IRF Translation project is going to issue a book Co-regulation of Media in Europe translated fro English by Roman Feschenko.
Sweeping development of Ukrainian media and the issue of limits of mass media regulation made the issue of tools of such regulation currently important. Suggested collection describes European experience of implementation of "alternative" regulation forms such as self-monitoring, self-regulation, and co-regulation in addition to or instead of traditional legislation.
The book unfolds the notion of "co-regulation", drives examples of its application and discusses possible spheres of its practical use. It describes characteristics and legal limits of the co-regulation and also possible risks and available opportunities related to it. Interaction between traditional and alternative regulation methods is demonstrated by examples with links to the effective European regulation tools.
The book is intended for practicing journalists, chief editors, students and post-graduates of correspondent specialties.
