All-Ukrainian Consortium of European Information Centres
All-Ukrainian Consortium of European Information Centres
Citizens of Ukraine from now have an opportunity to learn more about European integration thanks to 19 regional European Information Centres that have been established with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation. On November 9, 2005 these regional centres announced about creation of the All-Ukrainian Consortium of European Information Centres.
The mission of the Consortium is to create a stable and effective environment where all European Information Centres can be successful and serve for the benefit of people throughout Ukraine.
The objectives of the European Information Centres supported by the IRF are to:
Accumulate, process, maintain and provide free access to and distribution of information related to different aspects of European integration;
Provide free access to electronic data bases provided for by the IRF;
Create electronic data bases of the information available at the Information Centres and provide Internet access to it;
Provide full-time or part-time consultants to work with visitors of Centres and give telephone consultations;
Organise activities aimed at attracting attention of different audiences in particular regions to the Information Centres (press conferences for journalists, round tables and seminars on issues related to European integration, etc.).
The Consortium is open to participation of other non-governmental organisations, libraries, educational institutions, etc. (bearing no financial obligations for the IRF). Organisations or institutions that become members of the consortium will obtain full informational and expert support of the Consortium and its members.
