New call for proposals: Scholarships for university graduates from European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) countries and Russia to follow courses in the European Union leading to a Master Degree in European Integration Studies (29/04/2008)

The European Commission has launched the EAC/15/2008 call for proposals addressed to higher education institutions in the EU member states offering a Master Course in European Integration Studies.

The objective of this call is to award scholarships to select graduates from ENP countries (Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria, Tunisia and Ukraine) and Russia to follow courses leading to a degree of master in European Integration Studies offered in EU higher education institutions.

The application and selection procedures are based on four main steps:

EU higher education institutions that intend to participate in this call shall fill in an online questionnaire (http://ec.europa.eu/education/eis_masters) with the required data on their European Integration Master Course to create a database (http://ec.europa.eu/education/integration/index_en.html) that will be made available through the ‘’Europa’’ website.

Graduates from ENP countries shall apply for a scholarship to one higher education institution offering a European Integration Master Course (in accordance with EU higher education institutions own rules and deadlines for student applications).

EU higher education institutions having received applications from ENP and Russia graduates will select the best ones, rank them according to their quality and submit to the European Commission a list of proposed grantees.

The European Commission will select proposed students from ENP countries and Russia who meet the requirements set up in this call for proposals.

Following an amendment to the 2008 budget, the European Parliament made available 2.000.000 € for this pilot project.

Each grant is provided in the form of a lump sum, the maximum amount of a scholarship is € 20.000 per academic year.

Deadline for submitting an application ((for EU higher education institutions) is 6 June 2008.
