All groups presented on this site have brought joy to “Maydan” visitors by their appearance on stage during past 5 years. Group “King Size” regularly prepares surprises for its fans in the form of new works which are presented on the stage of our club.

Project “Golden Underground” started by Vasyl Ryabchuk first appeared on the radio station “Lutsk” October 6, 1995. One could listen to this program every Friday evening. The program was filled with the best samples of Ukrainian music. The project existed in such form till autumn 2000.

At the same time the idea was supported and developed by pubs “Maydan” and “Obolon’. Time for changes has come. It was exactly in autumn 2000 when the decision was made to organize something like live studio “unplugged” involving local rock musicians.

The part “Live Sound” was quite logically added to the popular name “Golden Underground”. The sequence of 10 programs was presented on the radio.

“Golden Underground”, “Live Sound” wins tremendous popularity and appears on the “big stage”. In the radio and concert programs various musicians took part – young (at that time) groups “Svoya Sorochka” (“Your Own Shirt”), “Zayvyj Rukh” (Extra Move”), “Tykha Prokholoda” (“Quiet Coolness”) , “Tykha Dumka”(“Silent Thought”) and known rockers “King Size”, Ot vinta”, “Outcry”…

Our club released and circulated CD “Step to Maydan”, “Golden Underground”. It does not include all groups which played at our place and expressed wish to participate in the project. At present we prepare release of the second CD “Step to Maydan” and a concert program “Golden Underground”.

Club “Maydan” gives its promise: “THE PROJECT GOES ON. NON-COMMERCIAL UKRAINIAN MUSIC IS ALIVE.WE ARE TOGETHER.”
