[28.02.2008] The Program of economic and social development of the Kharkiv region for 2008 has been approved (supplemented)

The deputies of the regional council have approved the Program of economic and social development of the Kharkiv region for 2008 that was presented for their consideration by the head of the Chief economic department of the regional state administration Anatoliy Dulenko. 99 deputies have voted for that decision.

[28.02.2008] To complete the construction of the Memorial in the Drobitskoy ravine the regional council has allocated 1 million 800 thousand hryvnas

The deputies of the regional council approved "The Program of completion of the Memorial-museum to the Nazi victims in the Drobitskoy ravine". All in all it is necessary for the completion of the Memorial about 2 million hryvnas.

The majority of the deputies of the regional council supported the approval of the target program of the preparation and holding of the final football matches of EURO – 2012 in Kharkiv.

The events under this title are held all over Ukraine including the Kharkiv region. This mission has become an actual project fulfillment initiated by the head of the state Viktor Yushchenko. The purpose of this project is solving the most urgent problems of families having many children.

The head of the regional state administration informed the journalists about it after closing the session of the activists of the region. "The fulfillment of the program of conversion of the plant should be realized, this is not signed by the central executive organs for three years. In 2005, I, Mr. Gritsenko (a former Director General of the plant, - comment) and the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Timoshenko had worked out the first steps in that direction and begun to carry out them. However, the Government of Viktor Yanukovich had brought that program to nothing", - emphasized the head of the region.

Within 2007 the economy of the Kharkiv region attracted 377 million US dollars of direct foreign investments. By their absolute growth the Kharkiv region claims the second place in Ukraine. According to the first deputy head of the regional state administration Vladimir Babayev, on the 1st January 2008 the total amount of direct foreign investments in the region was 1 billion 282 million US dollars.

Объемы закупок сельскохозяйственной техники в Харьковской области по итогам 2007 года впервые приблизились к минимально необходимому уровню. В целом, хозяйства региона потратили на техническое обновление 481,4 млн. грн., или почти в два раза больше (на 85%), чем в прошлом году (260,1 млн. грн.). Большая часть средств потрачена на приобретение тракторов (520 единиц, почти 157 млн. грн) и зерноуборочных комбайнов (194 единицы, 143,8 млн. грн.).
