On November 3-4, 2005 the international conference “Sixty Years of the UN: Taking Stock of Achievements and Paths to Greater Effectiveness in the 21st Century” was jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine and the Institute of International Relations, with the support of the UN office in Ukraine. UN Alley Groundbreaking Ceremony

On October 24, 2005 UN Alley Ground Breaking Ceremony devoted to the UN Day and the 60th anniversary of the United Nations was held in Kyiv. The stone was placed in the southern part of Novodnitsky park, where the participants of the ceremony planted 60 trees. (read more...)

Golden Lilia Sport Festival

Photo exhibition “Ukraine: In larger freedom”

On September 23-30, 2005 the UN Office in Ukraine and the Day newspaper carried out a joint photo exhibition ‘Ukraine: In Larger Freedom’ to celebrate the UN’s 60th anniversary and to promote the principles and values of the United Nations.

Round table discussion in the Parliament of Ukraine

On June 21, 2005 Round Table to Discuss the UN Secretary-General Report ‘In larger freedom: Towards development, security and human rights for all’ was held by the Institute for International Studies for Integration and Globalization with support from the UN house in Ukraine.

Dag Hammarskjold exhibition

On March 24, 2005 the United Nations office in Ukraine, the Embassy of Sweden, the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla academy” organized a special exhibition devoted to the centenary of the birth of Dag Hammarskjold, Secretary General of the United Nations 1953-1961 and the 60th Anniversary of the United Nations.
