What People Said...
 Pastor Rob Allart and several members of his team from Berea Amsterdam, a collection of churches in Holland, came to take part in the Embassy of God’s eleventh anniversary celebration. Pastor Rob and several of his team share about their ministries and why they came to the anniversary.
Pastor Rob Allart
Pastor Rob, you brought a large team with you from Holland this year. Why did you bring so many people with you to Ukraine?
I think it is not so many; it is too few. I want all the country to go with me because this is the answer. This is what Holland needs. They can see with their own eyes and own understandings what the Lord is really doing here in Kyiv. I preach about it and teach about it; I say what is happening here, but people have to go.
What is one thing you hope your team will take back to Holland with them to spread to other people?
They don’t want to go back anymore. They told me just this morning, “We want to stay here.” But they want to do something now in their ministries and they understand things better now. They don’t want to be lazy and they want to have a breakthrough in their own lives.
What is one thing that has impressed you the most about this anniversary or made the biggest impact on your life?
The most impact on me is the attitude of the people I see. I see how many fruits they produce. I see in the missions, the amount of growth in the number of people. I see the victory on their faces and I always see the reason they have to live. And this time, what we see also is how everything multiplied quickly in one year.
What would you like to say to people on our website?
What I want to say is go to Kyiv so you can understand. Because you cannot understand it just in words. And to listen to the preachings and teachings of Pastor Sunday. Not just once, but buy what you can and invest in yourself. Spend the money and get your ticket. Buy a ticket. Go!
Eddy Knoop
Hello. My name is Eddy, and I am from the Netherlands. I am part of the Berea church in Amsterdam. In that church I am the financial manager, responsible for all financial activities and also youth leader in the church. We have youth meetings with about 200 young people from all over Holland and Belgium.
Are the youth in Holland active or passive?
They are becoming active. They have been passive for quite a while, but they are becoming more and more active. It is just growing and growing, and going faster and faster and faster.
Why did you come to this anniversary conference?
I was invited by Pastor Rob Allart to come to this anniversary. I came to learn a lot of things because of my function in the church.
Is this your first trip here?
This is my first trip here. So I am here to learn a lot of things, especially to learn about being a businessman in the kingdom of God and how to work in the Kingdom of God. That is one of the things which God has laid on my life.
Since this is your first trip here, what is one thing that has impressed you?
That is difficult to say because I’ve got a lot of impressions. One thing that impresses me especially is that the people here just do things. They don’t think and think and think, that’s what w in Holland do, but they just do things. They just act.
Would you recommend coming to the next anniversary?
For sure. And I will be back for sure next year if I can pay everything. I will be back myself and take people with me.
Peter Borsje
My name is Peter. I am also part of the Berea Church in Amsterdam. I take part in the worship team and am also part of the newspaper that goes out every three months. We have a newspaper for the whole Berea Church in the Netherlands and also one for Berea Amsterdam. We recently joined in, so it is very new for us. We were also invited to come to Kyiv and we already knew about Pastor Sunday. We were very excited when we heard all the stories and testimonies and it laid a hunger in our hearts to come over here to join the celebration and feel the atmosphere and taste everything. Like Eddy said, coming to know new things and learning a lot, and of course see Kyiv. That is something special for us – you know being in a country you never thought of. But it is also for Pastor Sunday. He is doing a very new thing. That is what we heard and that is what astounded me. What can one man do. What can God do through a man. I have to admit that I said it wrong, but you know what I mean. God can do great things when a man can commit himself completely to God.
As a member of the praise and worship team in Holland, how do you like the praise and worship here?
I learn a lot here. We have so much to learn in Holland about worshipping, but we see it here. That is what I want. The song lasts for half an hour, maybe an hour, because when the Holy Spirit comes through, you can keep going and going and going. We feel more uncomfortable because a song is a song and we repeat it once or twice and that is it. So we have to learn more about this. I wish my whole team was here so they could experience it. I can tell it when I get back. And I can try to teach them, and I certainly will, I don’t think it will be easy. But if they were here, they would have seen it and would have felt it and would have tasted it. That is what I have come to know here and what I want to take back home.
What is one thing that has impressed you or stood out to you during this trip?
It is the word of God. He spoke to me personally through several people here, through several pastors. Other things, the generosity of our hosts was very good and the spirit of our group was very good. But I think you want a better answer. It is what I taste here. The Holy Spirit is here. God is here. He is also in Holland. He is also in Amsterdam, of course, but it is so strong here. It is what I see here, it is what I just mentioned because of what one man can do when he is completely surrendered to God, being a strong tool in God’s hands. You see a country change. You see people change. It is what we have to learn. We in the Western world, we are so uptight we must loosen ourselves and depend more on God.
Arnoud Muller
I am Arnoud Muller and I am a member of the Berea church in Amsterdam also. I sell real estate, but my ministry is to encourage young people, mainly young men who are unemployed and to help them get a job and encourage them to start their own businesses. We set up a kind of a group called the Fluger Team with our senior pastor, and we encourage all people who are unemployed or just stuck in their jobs. We noticed a lot of slavery in Holland and it has a negative effect on society. So, on the basis of God’s word we are set free to empower people and let them be restored. We build them up, teach them things, set them on their own two feet and send them out so they can encourage people themselves.
Why did you come to the anniversary this year?
Well, first of all, I wanted to meet Pastor Sunday. I think he is a very inspiring man. I have heard a lot about it because my mother came here for the first time twelve years ago. Actually, she was the one who introduced me to church life and made me go on the right path again because I was also unemployed and wanted to do nothing. I didn’t know I could do so much and because of God’s inspiration, I finally found out I could encourage people because I understand them and I have experience the same things, and I can point out exactly what their needs are. So that is the reason I made the choice to come.
What has impressed you or what have you enjoyed about your time in Kyiv?
Like Eddy said, the willing to achieve things in short notice. The pastor this morning, Tatyana Galushka, inspired me a lot. I think when you want to achieve it, it is possible. And it can be done in a week or two because for God time does not exist. Only in human life and in our thinking we have made our own borders. This has brightened my eyes for the cases in Holland also. We think in terms of years, and sometimes it is ok because you make choices for financial consequences and it is better to look on the long term, but for changes in life it can be done in a split second. Radical.
What were you expecting to receive or see when you came here?
Salvations, first of all and a lot of inspiration and learn principles of doing business, but also to glorify God. And the combination of those is too good to be true here. I wanted to say this this morning when we were on stage, but we hadn’t time. I think that Pastor Sunday is God’s pearl, God’s black pearl.
