| The EU-funded Project “Sustainable Local Development in Ukraine”, in the framework of cooperation with “The Consumer Society and Citizen Networks” Project, a joint initiative of the EU and UNDP, plans to hold a workshop entitled “Consumer Rights Protection, specifically in the Sphere of Housing and Communal Services” in Izyum (Kharkiv oblast) on the 24th of April 2008. The issues to be discussed are as follows: Ukrainian legislative basis on consumer rights protection, specifically in the sphere of housing and communal services, practice of consumer rights protection in Ukraine and in the European countries, impact of local authorities on consumer rights protection, specifically in the sphere of housing and communal economy, mechanisms of cooperation between local authorities and consumers to find the ways to resolve crucial problems and avoid misunderstanding, Internet resources and presentation of the consumer portal www.consumerinfo.org.ua etc., and also to hold interactive discussion involving participants of the workshop.
