Entry Requirements for International Students
To all those who sympathise with Donetsk national technical university
We are now building a new information-library centre which is supposed to become the intellectual basis for further development of engineering education in Donbass Region.
Four-storeyed building is being constructed on the central Artema street of Donetsk after the project-winner of the contest for the best design. The construction will have been finished by 2008.
Financing of the construction is provided by budget means, finances of the University itself and sponsor donations.
We will gratefully accept your help in construction of information-library centre. Your name will be inscribed on the commemorative bas-relief.

Donetsk national technical university is the first higher education establishment in Donbass and one of the first technical schools in Ukraine. It’ve seen the eightieth anniversary in 2001. It leans for support of its staff creative and scientific potential, has powerful logistics and stable traditions in engineers training. The university is sure in its future.
About 23 000 full time and correspondence students are trained at the University on its 60 specialities;
There are 28 corresponding members and academicians of different engineering academies, 18 honoured scientists and teachers among the University staff;
A number of the DonNTU scientists are honored and full members of foreign scientific societies and academies. It has professors and students who are Soros' scholarship holders;
The Committee of the CRE, at its last meeting held in Bordeaux on 19 May 1999, has accepted application of Donetsk State Technical University for membership. Therefore the DonNTU has become a new member of the Association of European Universities (CRE).
DonNTU is registered as a member of SEFI-a European engineering education association-and, as a full member of this non-governmental international organization, participates in the seminars and meetings organized by it as well as in the annual conference and meeting of the SEFI General Assembly;
DonNTU is a Contributing Member of the UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education (UICEE)
The university has about 30 collaboration agreements with universities, organizations and firms of Europe, North America, Asia and Africa;
The University is a member of the American Material Science Association;
Thirteen scientists of different foreign Universities are honoured doctors of DonSTU.
High quality engineers are trained here. The bronze medal awarded to the University at the IV World Conference on Engineering Education proves this. This Conference organized under the aegis of the International Liaison Group for Engineering Education(ILG-EE) in the USA attracted attention of the United Nations Organization experts and the representatives of a number of other authoritative organisations. ILG-EE holds this series of Conferences every three years. 50 world universities participated in it. Ukraine and our university was presented at the congress by Doctor of Science, Professor, Honoured scientist of Ukraine , Rector A. Minayev. He presented two papers there-on engineering specialities students creative abilities development and on ecology training at our university. The first paper was paid a great attention to and was awarded with the bronze medal.
Training at our university is aimed to give students ability to propose, grasp and implement technical , commercial, social and management ideas, to adapt themselves to situation at work and in life which are changed very quickly.
Students who have proper knowledge in foreign languages and their speciality have a chance to be sent to study abroad. It has already become a reality for the students of Dutch Department, German and French Engineering Faculties, Mining and Mining Engineering Faculties.
Besides the traditional, the following training forms are successfully developed at the University:
teaching aimed to train scientists and instructors in accordance with the individual plan under the supervision of a professor;
teaching on an individual graph aimed to get advanced knowledge on the chosen speciality.
The best students have a right for free lectures attendance and , beginning with the third year of study, for taking exams due to their individual schedule, the examiner being chosen by them.
