Austria to open an Embassy in Moldova in 2007

In 2007, Austria will open an embassy in the Republic of Moldova. The announcement was made by Christian Zeilessen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Moldova, headquartered in Bucharest, who met with Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Stratan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, on the occasion of ending his diplomatic activity in the Republic of Moldova. According to the Foreign Ministry press service, the diplomat announced the intention and readiness of Austrian authorities to open the Austrian Embassy in Chisinau during this year. In the context of the discussions on the results Chisinau achieved in the process of implementation of the EU-Moldova Action Plan, Austria showed readiness to consolidate cooperation with Moldova in the field of justice and domestic affairs. For his part, the head of Moldovan diplomacy thanked the Ambassador for his activity in the Republic of Moldova and expressed gratitude for Austria's plenary participation in launching the Common Visa Center.
