Cooperation plans between border agencies of Moldova and Ukraine for 2007

Igor Kolenov, Director-General of the Border Service of Moldova, met with Mykola Lytvyn, Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine. The working meeting of the two border agencies’ delegations took place 22 March 2007 in Stefan Vode.

The parties considered the current situation on the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border, implementation and development prospects of cooperation between the border agencies of Moldova and Ukraine, and information exchange. Based on the information provided, they noted a high level of interaction existing between the two countries’ state border supervision and control authorities.

Based on results of the meeting, the two Heads signed a plan to develop cooperation between the Border Service of the Republic of Moldova and the State Border Service of Ukraine for 2007 that offers expanded interaction between the border supervision and control authorities as well as coordination of joint efforts to combat illegal activities on the border between the two countries.
