Например, при считывании болванки в нормальном состоянии и на новом приводе с помощью Easy CDDA Extractor (весь диск в один файл) были получены разные файлы (различия были в конце диска - несколько миллисекунд, и это на болванке без царапин) APE - это формат беспотерьного сжатия (в отличие от mp3), т.е. если сжать .wav, а потом .ape распаковать, то получим первоначальный .wav. CUE - значит диск считан в один файл, а не порезан на куски. Файл с расширением .cue содержит информацию для разбивки, в т.ч. названия дорожек.
