I’d like to devote this page to my work. I work with dogs. I’m a handler.
Handling originates from “to handle”, which means on one hand “to manage with hands” and on the other hand “to have overall responsibility for supervising or directing”. Thus “handler” is the one who manages a dog and has overall responsibility for directing it while presenting in the exterior ring during the dog show. The main task of the handler is to demonstrate major exterior merits of a dog to the expert board trying to hide its demerits wherever possible.
