International activity of European University is directed to ensuring its integration with the international university community, creating more opportunities for the University development in the framework of the Bologna process and European integration. European University carries out international cooperation at the regional and global level with universities and educational centres of foreign countries. In 2003 European University became a member of the International Association of Universities. The information about the University has been included in the UNESCO publications International Reference Book of Universities and Study Abroad.European University is a co-organizer of the public readings on the problems of European integration.

In 2003 the University got the grant of the Council of Europe for holding a seminar «Educational rights of national minorities».

Within the limits of the concluded agreements (total of 24) the most fruitful in recent years have been the contacts with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Turkey, Poland, the Russian Federation and Great Britain.

Some prominent people and foreign professors have visited and given lectures at the University.

Over the last several years the delegations of the University have visited Spain, France, Germany, Great Britain, Iran, Turkey, South Korea, Ethiopia, the Republic of Sudan, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.

With the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine the University organised the information and advertising exhibitions»Higher education institutions of Ukraine and their scientific achievements» in the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey that gave a powerful impetus to the development of the educational and research links and cultural exchanges.

In the conditions of Ukraine's formation as an independent state and extending its cultural, scientific and educational links with the countries of the world it is particularly important to spread the knowledge about Ukraine, its history, traditions and the reforms taking place nowadays. One of the most effective forms of such activity is training foreign students in Ukraine. The necessary stage of such training is a one-year preparation period during which a foreign student studies the language of the country and other general educational courses.

The International Preparatory Center of European University was established in 1997. Its aim is to help the University to occupy a proper place in the European scientific and educational community.

The Center gives foreign citizens the opportunity to get pre-university training in economic, engineering, medical and biological fields, and also provides teaching of Ukrainian (Russian) for the post-graduate and doctoral students and the businessmen from foreign countries. The teachers who work in the Center are professionals with 15 and more years of teaching experience.

Teaching in the Center is based on combining the principles of individuality, objectivity, diving in the language environment, practical orientation. Along with the state-standard certificate of graduation from the preparatory department for foreign students the Center's graduates gain the necessary knowledge of the country's language and also of such disciplines as chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, informatics, economics and some others according to the chosen direction of their future studies. Now its graduates already study at various faculties of medical universities in Kyiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Sevastopol and other cities, in the National Technical University of Ukraine and in European University itself.

A very important division of the International Preparatory Center is the Department of Distance Learning, which carries out pre-university training of foreign students with the use of the Internet technologies for the distance access to the information resources of European University.The use of the Internet in the academic process has considerably extended the possibilities of engaging young people in getting education, irrespective of their nationality and the country of residence. In 2004 the first graduates of the Distance Department from Iran came to European University and other universities of Ukraine.

The International Center is a big family of students from 15 countries of the world: Libya, Jordan, India, China, Iran, Morocco, Cameroon, Bulgaria and others. Here they take care of each other, support each other and have a great time together.
