Round 10: Changes at the top. Vassily Ivanchuk beat Alexey Shirov and headed the tournament while Sergey Karjakin  played draw with Onischuk.  Svidler won the first victory after a series of 9 draws.

Both leaders had hard draw games in round 9. Only Shirov gained the victory in the game with Jakovenko.

After a quick draw in the game between leader Karjakin and Nisipeanu in round 8,  the meeting Rublevsky-Ivanchuk was in the high light. Vassily Ivanchuk won this game and came up to Karjakin. Van Wely beat Eljanov. Four games were drawn.

Sergey Karjakin continue to head the tournament. In round 7 he carried out the effective attack against van Wely and won the game. Vassily Ivanchuk beat Eljanov in a hard struggle and retained the 2nd position. Shirov defeated Sasikiran and became the 3rd. The rest games were drawn.

Sergey Karjakin became the leader after his victory over Alexey Shirov in the 5th Round. Rublevsky beat Sasikiran. Four games were drawn. Svidler played with Van Wely and have made the 5th draw while his opponent only the first.

The most spectacular game of the 4th was van Wely - Jkovenko. White sacrificed the knight and carried out a nice attack. The rest games were drawn.

In the 3rd round leader of the tournament Alexey Shirov lost game to Loek van Wely. Eljanov played black with Nisipeanu and gained his first victory. Four games were drawn.

The 2nd round became a battle one. The only game Rublevsky - Svidler was drawn. Karjakin sacrificed a knight to Eljanov and won the game. Ivanchuk beat Nisipeanu after black unsuccessfully sacrificed the Queen.  Jakovenko beat Sasikiran, Onischuk and Shirov playing as black defeated van Wely and Dominguez.

Alexey Shirov is leading with two victories in first two rounds.

The International Tournament "AEROSVIT-2007" has started. A lot of guests arrived to the opening ceremony of the tournament.

Among them FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and Vice-Premier of Ukraine Dmitry Tabachnik. You can look a photo-report about the opening ceremony in the "Photo" section.

In the first round Dominguez beat van Wely, Shirov beat Rublevsky and Sasikiran defeated Onischuk. The rest games were drawn.
