The DAAD/Siemens Master's Degree Programme for
Young Engineers from Central and Eastern Europe aims to enable participants to
engage in selected practical, applications-oriented degree courses leading to a
Master's degree at one of Germany's higher education institutions.
Duration
The scholarship is awarded for the time it takes to complete a Master's degree
course. The maximum scholarship period is two years.
Scholarship value
Holders receive a monthly scholarship payment of DM 1,325.-/Euro 677.46, plus
subsidies and allowances such as a research allowance, travel costs, insurance,
etc. From the 1st of January 2002 the amount will be paid in Euro.
Application requirements
The programme is open for applications by engineering students who upon
commencement of the scholarship hold at least a Bachelor's degree, have good
English and German language skills, and are no older than 27 years of age on the
date of application. The programme is not intended for doctoral candidates.
Special remarks
Prospective students can only apply for one of the specified degree courses and
will be required to give reasons for their choice. Information on the degree
courses involved can be obtained from the regional DAAD offices abroad.
Application deadline
Various deadlines apply, depending on the applicants country of origin. For
posted applications the date as postmarked will be taken as the date of
application. Where the deadline falls on a weekend, the next working day will be
the final deadline for applications.
