UGRAD

The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) provides opportunities for current first-, second-, and third-year undergraduate students to spend one academic year of non-degree study in a US university or community college.

Muskie

The Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program (Muskie) provides opportunities for Master’s level study in the United States.

Educational Testing

The electronic versions of the TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, USMLE, PMI and ICMA are offered at the Educational Testing Center.

TEA

Eurasia/South Asia Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program provides secondary school teachers from Eurasia and South Asia with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States.

Internet

The Internet Access and Training Program (IATP) facilitates information sharing, network building, communication, and collaboration between exchange program alumni, community groups, and NGOs.

UMPP

The Ukrainian Media Partnership Program (UMPP) creates and fosters long-term relationships between selected U.S. media outlets and Ukrainian media outlets. UMPP works with independent print, radio and TV media sectors in Ukraine. UMPP was launched in 2002 and funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the US Department of State, but currently is sponsored by the Media Development Fund of the US Embassy in Ukraine.

05.12 First Meeting of UGRAD Alumni Steering Committee

On November, 17, 2007 eight alumni from different regions of Ukraine were invited to the IREX office in Kyiv in order to take part in the UGRAD alumni steering committee. The meeting was moderated by Oksana Koval, IREX Program Officer. The major goal of the meeting was to define the best strategy of planning and coordinating alumni events in their local communities.

05.12 Workshop in Kyiv Features Local Poets

On November 10, 2007 eighteen Muskie, Ugrad, and FLEX alumni gathered in the Alumni Resource Center in Kyiv in order to participate in the workshop, “Writing Poetry and Short Stories,” conducted by Tetyana Strelchenko (UGRAD ’05).

12.11 2008 Global UGRAD Participant Application Available

The Government of the United States of America is pleased to announce the 2008-2009 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD). The deadline for this application is December 10, 2007. 27.10 Muskie Re-Entry Workshop Focuses on Career Development and Networking

On October 27th,15 Muskie alumni gathered at Trypillya Restaurant and Conference Center just south of Kyiv, Ukraine. The goal of the workshop was to bring together recently-returned Muskie alumni with older alumni and professionals to discuss career development and networking.

26.10 Seminar Outlines the History and Use of Business Ethics

The alumni training “Business Ethics” on October 26 brought together alumni of IREX and Fulbright programs.The training was conducted by Professor Ed Cocks, a university lecturer on business ethics. The training’s goal was to define and outline the ethics of business and interpersonal relations in society.

The second edition of the book “Education against Drugs” has been published recently. The safety manual was supplemented and improved due to the practical experience at Chernihiv schools. Alumni of the Eurasia/South Asia Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program are eligible to apply for the Small Grants Program. The application deadline is extended till January 21, 2007, 17:00.
