The first results of the Fifth exhibition and conference EEBC 2007 Telecom&Broadcasting

170 companies participated in the exhibition and conference EEBC 2007 that gathered operators and providers of telecommunication technologies from 30 countries of the world in Kiev.

Comparing to 2006, the exhibition has grown by 30%, the total exhibition space was 3500 sq.m. The fastest growing segment was, in the participants’ opinion, TV content production and distribution. According to the results of the express-survey, conducted among the exhibitors, over 250 contracts and 320 partnership agreements were concluded during the exhibition. Almost 90% of exhibiting companies stated high business activities at the exhibition and quality attendance of target visitors. Two thirds of exhibitors have already confirmed their participation in EEBC next year. The exhibition was attended by 3500 industry professionals.

This year the agenda of an annual conference “Progress trends in technologies and business of infocommunication operators of Eastern Europe and CIS countries” that is traditionally held in the days of EEBC, incorporated 40 presentations split into three thematic sessions. Session topics included: convergent solutions for audio, video, telephony, and television; overviews of electronic communication markets of the European countries; company seminars. Among the most important questions which attracted the delegates’ attention were: implementation of digital television, including national DTT projects, new services (IPTV, mobile TV) in new generation networks, mobile WiMAX, DTH platforms, issues of the operators and providers licensing and RF spectrum use. Other significant events related to the conference program were: the Second International conference “High-Tech Marketing. Beyond Sales: focus on a client” and master-classes on strategic planning of telecommunication companies development.

Traditionally, EEBC exhibition and conference included comprehensive program of business events for the industry unions and associations. EEBC 2007 hosted All-Ukrainian congress of cable operators, Round Table “Competitive wireless communications: world trends, Russian experience and Ukrainian reality”, Round Table “Digital Television. Models of interaction for market players”.

The leading providers of innovative telecommunication technologies demonstrated end-to-end IPTV, VOD, Mobile Broadcasting solutions for the operators.

EEBC is supported by over 30 Ukrainian and international industry associations and unions. This year EEBC was held under official support of the Ministry of Transport and Communication, Department of Communication and Informatization, National Committee on Regulation Communication and National Council on Television and Broadcasting of Ukraine.
