Oleksandr Tarasovych Lytvyn was born in Kyiv to the family of Taras Ulyanovych and Hanna Hryhorivna on August 8, 1969.
Since childhood, he has loved sports. Having begun his studies in a typical general education school, he eventually transferred to a specialized sports school. Upon graduation, he decided to dedicate his life to sports and enrolled in the Kyiv State Institute of Physical Education. After graduating he was called up for army service.
Later he began the search for his “I”. His inquisitive mind sought new horizons. His choice was the hotel industry. This is when the complicated, yet interesting work began. Besides practical work in the hotel, Lytvyn perfected his knowledge at the Kyiv Institute of Tourism, Economics and Law with a major in Organizational Management.
Having begun his professional career with the Economic Security Service of the Hotel Ukraina (the former name of the Premier Palace Hotel), he climbed the ladder to the position of Chairman of the Board of Ukraine’s finest hotel.
Lytvyn successfully attracted investments for the further development of the hotel’s infrastructure, quickly reacting to changes in the business climate in Ukraine.
Having unique experience managing the country’s only 5-star hotel, he constantly applies and implements the experience of the international hotel industry. In 2004, Lytvyn became the president Ukraine’s first and only hotel chain, Premier Hotels, which includes the best hotels in Ukraine (the Oreanda, Londonskaya, Cosmopolite and Star, along with the Premier Palace).
Under Lytvyn’s leadership as Chairman of the Board, the Premier Palace has progressed from 3-star to 5-star status and has won many prestigious competitions.
In 2004, the Premier Palace won the Golden Trademark Award and received the Olimp prize for its high level of professionalism and significant contribution to building an international image for Ukraine. In 2005 The Premier Palace Hotel earned the Hospitality Excellence Award.
It took first place in the national Ukrainian Tourism 2005 survey, as Best Hotel and Tourism Complex as rated by the Ukrainian Press.
Outside his business life, Lytvyn is very active in social and charitable events in Kyiv and throughout Ukraine. This includes participation in sponsorship programs and helping children’s treatment institutions.
He makes a significant contribution toward promoting Ukraine in the world through active participation in the Association of Hotel Groups and Hotels of Ukraine. That group’s goal is the development of hotel services in Ukraine.
The personal achievements of Lytvyn aimed at the development of the hotel market in Ukraine and its contribution to building a socially responsible society have been recognized with awards on more than one occasion.
Additionally, Lytvyn is firmly convinced that the business reputation and the national significance of the Premier Palace over the years is the result of the solid performance and contribution of the Hotel’s team of professionals. The most important measure of the hotel’s success is its guests and the compliments received from guests.
