Polsat ups the ante
According to data produced by TNS OBOP, the national commercial station Polsat claimed the highest net revenue from advertising this May, its earnings of PLN235,619,847 (ˆ61,535,448) being 16.3% up on the corresponding period last year.

Multimedia opts for WiMax
The Polish MSO Multimedia Polska has announced that it will begin using WiMax on its network. The move follows an agreement with Airspan Networks Inc worth PLN8 million (ˆ2.08 million), and the operator expects to invest a further PLN4 million on implementing the technology in 2007/8.

European Regulators Want IMT2000 Expanded
WiMAX networks are being deployed in European countries at 3.5 GHz, and they mostly are confined to offering fixed wireless services. The mobile version of WiMAX also is being rolled out at 3.5 GHz and has been trialed in the Netherlands at 2.6 GHz.

Polsat and Axel Springer talk again
The terms of the Polsat/Axel Springer deal are under renegotiation. Speaking to the Polish press, Polsat’s owner Zygmunt Solorz-Zak has said that the aim of the talks is to come up with an agreement that has no mention of joint ownership, but rather a reference to the German company acquiring a stake in the Polish broadcaster.
