Blackboard Login Instructions

Please makesure your computer meets the system requirements for blackboard before logging in.

Blackboard Login Instructions for Students:

Note: Student accounts will be active the first day of class for students who enrolled during early registration. All other accounts will not be activate until the afternoon after your actual enrollment date, unless otherwise noted by instructor.

1. Go to http://blackboard.odessa.edu
   
2. Click the "Login" button.
   
3. Enter your first initial, middle initial and last name in the blank for Username. If this combination results in a duplication with another person, a unique number is appended after last name.

   Example: John Quincy Doe = jqdoe
   James Quincy Doe = jqdoe987

4. Your password is the lower case characters "oc" plus the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.

   Example: oc0510

5. Click the "Login" button.
   
6. You should be looking at your "My Blackboard" page, if not click the "My Blackboard" tab at the top of the page under the OC banner.
   
7. In the "Tools" bar on the left side of the page click "Personal Information".
   
8. Click "Edit Personal Information".
   
9. Make sure your e-mail address is correct, if not enter the correct e-mail. NOTE: Your initial email will be your OC student email account. You can check your OC email account at https://studentmail.odessa.edu. Email login instructions can be found at https://studentmail.odessa.edu/src/help.htm.
   
10. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Submit" button, then click "OK"
    
11. Click "OK" twice to return to "My Blackboard"
    
12. You have completed the login process, your course(s) will be listed in the box on the right, labeled "My Courses"
    
13. If your course is not listed or your login does not work, contact your instructor.

VCT students (students who are taking a course through another campus) should email their instructor for login information.
