In the belief that an informed citizenry is an involved citizenry, the
Crime Prevention Unit of the Odessa Police Department makes these reports
available to the public and encourages your utilization of the Criminal
Activity Reports we publish each week. These reports include information
about convicted sex offenders, burglaries, arrests, Daily Notable Activity
and archived reports.
A link has been provided that can be used to review archived copies
of these reports or of the individual data groups. The sex offender
link will take you to the
Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records
sex offender database where you will find the offenders name and photograph.
To search for sex offenders in your area, please input both, your zip
code at the bottom of the form and the city name. The system then will
return a list of names and addresses of the known sex offenders in your
area.
This information system was originally
created to benefit our Neighborhood Watch block captains in their efforts
to maintain the quality of life in their neighborhoods. They are an
important partner to Odessa’s public safety entities in our efforts
to provide a safe environment for family life and the pursuit of each
individual’s interests.
Please feel free to
email the Crime Prevention Officer
with any suggestions
or comments. The City of Odessa Police Department is interested to know
how this information has been helpful to you and any suggestions you
may have to improve the content.
The City of Odessa Police Department also welcomes your participation
in our Neighborhood Watch program. The
Ector County Sheriff’s Office
has a similar program for residents of the county.
Thanks for taking time to stay informed. We sincerely appreciate your interest.
