PAUCI and Eurasia Foundation – Partners in the Region’s Development
PAUCI Foundation and the Eurasia Foundation (EF) signed an important working partnership agreement on February 7. The agreement reflects both partners’ commitment to working toward their mutual goals of European integration, citizen participation in government, ethical standards in public life, youth empowerment and promoting transparent philanthropy.

Exchanging Experts to share experiences
PAUCI Expert Exchange Program (EEP) allows highly qualified Polish and Ukrainian experts to transfer their practical experience. Throughout the period from December 2006 to March 2007, PAUCI plans to organize 15 internships for Ukrainian civil servants from 5 oblast administrations (Sumy, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Crimea and Ivano-Frankivsk) in Polish voivodships within the framework of the PAUCI Project "Bringing European Governance Standards to Ukraine." In the meantime, 5 Polish experts will work in the Ukrainian oblast administrations to share experiences on strategic planning, investment promotion, human resource management, etc.

PAUCI Grant program in 2006
PAUCI awarded 16 Grants in 2006 under Local Governance (4 projects), Anti-corruption (6 projects) and Youth Empowerment (6 projects) focus areas for the total amount of 171 809,40 USD. The average amount of each grant constituted 25 000 USD.

RAZOM (together) to overcome the borders!
In December 2006, the PAUCI Foundation held the final meeting of participants of the RAZOM Initiative — a school partnership program between Ukraine and Poland - in the Polish Embassy in Ukraine. About 60 people were in attendance, including schoolchildren and teachers who participated in the RAZOM school exchange program in October and November 2006, as well as representatives of the Polish Embassy in Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, colleagues from Polish youth organizations, Ukrainian NGOs and journalists. They discussed the role of the youth exchanges between Ukraine and Poland, especially in overcoming stereotypes and upbringing of a mature citizen.

Youth changes society: II Kyiv Dialog
On October 5-7 Kyiv welcomed guests at the II Kyiv Dialog entitled “Youth changes society.” This German-Ukrainian forum, brought together over 220 participants from youth organizations, government, local authorities, culture, as well as teachers, experts, journalists from all regions of Ukraine, Germany, and Poland.

Experience transfer between German, Polish and Ukrainian border communities
In September 2006, PAUCI launched a new project “Cross-border management of social care and youth participation” in Zhovkva (Western Ukraine).The project aims to support the cities of Zhovkva and Zamość to develop a substantial partnership in the field of social work and youth participation.

A Conference on Ukraine’s Role in EU and NATO Expansion
On July 1-2 2006, the PAUCI Foundation and the Polish Institute of International Affairs organized a conference entitled “Expanding the EU and NATO: Securing Peace from the Black to the Baltic Sea” in Odesa to address the security and defense aspects of NATO and the European Union’s relationships with Ukraine, energy security issues in the region and the challenges of NATO membership for Ukraine. The event brought about 120 participants, among which were representatives from the Ukrainian government, non-profit sector, ambassadors, experts on EU and NATO from Poland, the United States, Germany, Turkey and Moldova, influential politicians, and journalists.

PAUCI Holds Next Club Meetings in Warsaw
