In Gidzivka, Ukraine, a collective farming village dating back
to the ninth century, families and friends celebrate a wedding.
Traditionally, before the bride and groom
can marry, they must each bow in front of their parents and
grandparents and kiss loaves of homemade bread to symbolize the
transition from their old family to a new one. The couple also
visited the gravesite of the bride's father to pay their respects.
Dancing, a feast, and much vodka -- all part of a three-day
ceremony.
