Entrance Examinations

ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS

Entrance examinations for all courses are held either in written or oral form. Besides, taking into account courses and disciplines that are appointed for entrance examinations, it is permitted to combine written tasks with tests elements (complex exam).

University entrants have entrance examinations for all forms of studies on such disciplines:

- for the courses of Biological Department - Biology (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

- for the courses of Economic Department - Mathematics (written with test elements), Foreign Language (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

- for the courses of Historic Department - on History of Ukraine and Universal XX-th Century History (written with test elements), Foreign Language (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

- for the courses of Mathematical Department - on Mathematics (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

- for the courses of Medical Department - on Biology (written with test elements), Chemistry (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

- for the courses of Romance and Germanic Philology Department - - English Language and Literature - on English Language (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

- German Language and Literature - on German Language (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

- French Language and Literature - on French Language (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

- Romanian Language and Literature - Romanian Language (oral), Romanian Language and Literature (composition), Ukrainian Language (interview).

- for the courses of Philological Department -

- for the courses of Law Department -

- Science of Law - on Ukrainian Language (dictation), Foreign Language (written with test elements), Fundamentals of State and Law (written with test elements).

- Social Work - on Ukrainian Language (dictation), Fundamentals of State and Law (written with test elements).

- for the courses of Physical Department -

- Physics - on Ukrainian Language (dictation), Physics (written with test elements).

- Physics and Materials Technology and Electronic Technics Components - on Ukrainian Language (dictation), Physics (written with test elements).

- Scientific Physical Technology - on Ukrainian Language (dictation), Foreign Language (written with test elements).

- for the courses of Chemical Department - on Chemistry (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

- for the courses of Engineering Department - on Mathematics (written with test elements), Ukrainian Language (dictation).

Entrance examinations are composed on the bases of secondary education schools programs. They stipulate for:

- origional works in secondary education disciplines, advanced knowledge of which are needed for getting the core of rpofession.

- professional choise tests.

Marks criteria are approved by the Admittance Commission setting and are announced to the university entrants prior to entrance examinations.

Entrants, who are certificated in Ukrainian language, are demanded to have an obligatory examination on this discipline in the form of dictation. Those, who graduated schools with Russian, Hungarian or Romanian language of studying, may have entrance examinations on other disciplines in Russian, Hungarian or Romanian correspondingly.

Persons, that graduated from schools with Romanian, Hungarian and Russian language of studying, and are not certificated in Ukrainian language, may have dictation in native language.

. Maximal limited number of points in the entrance examinations is 180 in each discipline, and in Ukrainian (dictation) - 120 points.

To the competition those entrants are allowed, who in entrance examinations gained non less than 50% out of maximum possible points in each discipline. The sum of all points in educational disciplines in which entrance examinations are held, makes entrant's rating at the content.

Those who at school were awarded gold or silver medal, as well as those who graduated specialized high or vocational schools with Honour Degrees, pass entrance examinations on the same bases as the rest entrants.

Leavers of Preparatory Departments pass entrance examinations on general basis.

Appeals are sent to Admittance Commission:

- in case of main discipline oral examination - on the very day of the exam.

- in case of written examination - on the next working day.

The appeal is considered the next day after it hes been submitted.

Those who without serious reasons were absent at schedule entrance examination on have got "non-credit" or less than 50% out of maximal number of points, permitted for the discipline, won't be allowed to take next examinations and participate in the content.
