I am delighted to present the 10th issue of D'Lux magazine. This year was filled with many events and achievements for us, the most important of which was our being awarded two of the 2006 World Travel Awards; The Leading Hotel of Ukraine and The Leading Business Hotel of Ukraine.

        The history of the World Travel Awards began in 1993 when British promoter Graham Cook realized that a constantly growing travel industry needs an award of international coverage and significance to show who the leaders in this field of activity are. To make the selection of award winners objective and independent, over 165,000 travel agencies and professionals from nearly every country of the world are involved in the voting.

        Being nominated for a World Travel Award is a very significant achievement for companies in the travel business - even more significant than the winning of an Oscar is for the filmmaker. A nomination represents the personal approval of many thousands of professionals from every corner of the world. Since these professionals deal with travel agencies and tourist products every day it's possible to get on the nomination list only with an unblemished reputation.

        The presentation ceremony of these most prestigious awards in the travel industry took place on the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos on September 20. We are very honoured to announce that the Donbass Palace Hotel was the only nominee from Eastern Europe for The Leading Hotel of Europe award. Standing shoulder to shoulder with such hotels as the British The Savoy, the Parisian Hotel Le Bristol or Berlin's Aldon Kempinsk speaks for itself about our falling within European levels of quality and service. All this encourages our continued efforts.
