Radiological Center Academy of Medical Scienses of Ukraine was founded in 1999. |
Director of the Center - Doctor of Medical Sciences Vladimir A. Rogozhyn.
In 1999 Dr. Rogozhyn defended his thesis "Spiral computer and magnetic resonance tomography in diagnostics of pelvis tumors" for degree of doctor of medical sciences in the specialty of radiological diagnostics. The main field of his scientific research is development and implementation of new diagnostic methods. In the last few years dr. Rogozhyn was actively engaged in the development of magnetoresonance tomography and in vivo spectroscopy in neurooncology, gerontology and pediatrics. He is the author of over 100 works, which envelop almost every field of clinical radiology.

Scientific department
In scientific department of the Center investigations are carried out with the use of magnetoresonance tomography and in vivo spectroscopy, X-ray computer tomography and other diagnostic methods. Radiologists of the department participate in scientific programs, which constitute primary fields of activity of Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. Their innovations in improvement of data processing methods have been implemented in clinical practice of numerous institutions of Ministry of Health Care and Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. The primary field of research is functional and metabolic mapping of the brain aimed to reveal its metabolic features in formation of age-specific pathology.

Department of magnetoresonance tomography
Investigations are carried out with the use of 1.5 T Magnetom Vision Plus System (SIEMENS).
Main techniques used in clinical and scientific practice are:
SE, IR, 2D Gradient Echo (FLASH, FISP, PSIF), Turbo FLASH, 3DFISP, DESS, Advanced 3D-imaging package, Turbo-imaging package, MR-angiography 2D and 3D TOF, Ultrafast imaging/EPI package, Periferal MR-angiography, Functional imaging, MR cardiac package, 1H MR-spectroscopy.

Department of computer tomography
Investigations are carried out with the use of following tomographs: Spiral CT Somatom Plus 4 Power (SIEMENS), Spiral CT Somatom AR. STAR Version 80S.
Main techniques used in clinical and scientific practice are:
60/80 cm Spiral, UFC detectors, Subsecond spiral, Care bolus, Angio CT, 3D display, Osteo CT, Pulmo CT.

Department of radiography
Investigations are carried out with the use of following systems: Universal digital diagnostic R/F System SIRESKOP SX, Fully digital SIREGRAPH T.O.P. R/F System, DIGISCAN 2H, X-Ray Radiography System Multix PRO, X-Ray Radiography System Multix T.O.P., Digital mammography system - MAMMO-MAT 3000 OPTIMA with precision stereo biopsy.
Main techniques used in clinical and scientific practice are:
chest survey, abdominal survey (fluorography and fluoroscopy of esophagus, stomach, duodenum, small and large intestines, large bowel enema), investigations of gall bladder and biliary ducts, kidneys and ureters (intravenous urography), descending cystography, investigations of heart, larynx, skull, including localized imaging at specific views (according to Schuller, Meyer, Stenvers), localized radiography of facial bones, radiography of cervical and lumbosacral spine, extremities, mammography, including special views, digital mammography, axillography, ductography, pneumocystography, stereotaxic trepanbiopsy, thin needle aspiration biopsy.

Department of ultrasound diagnostics
Investigations are carried out with the use of following systems:
Sonoline Elegra ultrasound system with full set of transducers.
Main techniques used in clinical and scientific practice are: US investigation of abdominal cavity (liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, urinary bladder), transabdominal and transrectal investigations of the prostate, transvaginal investigation of small pelvis organs in women, US investigation of thyroid gland, dopplerography of blood vessels of small pelvis organs, investigation of blood vessels of head and neck, transcranial investigation of cerebral arteries.
The Center is provided with supplementary data processing and saving devices: SINET Local Computer Net with 9 Magic View Workstations, Dicom 30 Electronic Archive, Barcode Station, KODAK Laser Cameras.
