Good to know Make sure you have some decent insurance for your trip or stay. Medical help in life threatening situations is free and provided to anyone but regular expenses you'll have to cover yourself. No special vaccination is needed for travel to Ukraine.
Things to remember Don't drink tap water in Ukraine, it's no good. Buy safe bottled water. Bring your prescription medicines with you. Unless in emergency, contact the hospital beforehand to get an appointment. Ask how much your appointment will be, the price is usually around 100 UAH (20USD) for a consultation but it differs. You will need some Russian/Ukrainian initially.
Buy travel insurance before your trip. If you're staying in Ukraine for a long time you'll probably get an insurance from your employer. If you don't have that, you can avail of private insurance or get the basic Ukrainian state insurance. You will need that to register your passport if you're staying over three months and can buy it at the registration office.
