Physical Therapy Magazine (Phіsіotherapіe 5, 2006) a periodical of the German Physical Therapist Association (www.іfk.de) has published an article “Cerebral Palsy and Spectrum of Treatment Possibilities”.

Author of the article is a well known German scientists, Medical director of the Munich Child Center, Institute for Social Pediatrics and Adolescence Medicine of the Ludwig-Maximilians- University in Munich, Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h. c. Hubertus von Voss.

Rehabilitation with the Ease of a Game

A new approach to movement training in cerebral palsy patients has been developed in the International Clinic of Rehabilitation in Ukraine. High results have been achieved using the combination of physical therapy and computer games. While training a specific movement a child is playing an exciting computer game. Specially designed computer games both provide high motivation for a child for the correct movement performance, and allow for recording his/her motor improvements.

Correction of movement utilizing the “Spiral” suit – an important part of the Kozijavkin Method

Rehabilitation outcome assessment methods in intensive neurophysiological rehabilitation system

Common criteria of disability evaluation are discussed in the article, especially for patients with cerebral palsy. These criteria could be used in outcome studies of different rehabilitation systems. Several diagnostic methods, used in Intensive Neurophysiological Rehabilitation System, are described, namely, assessments of muscle tone and range of movements, video recording of gross motor functions and hand function evaluation. The application of these methods is illustrated on a group of 12 256 patients treated during last years using Intensive Neurophysiological Rehabilitation System.
