I have just completed an exchange year in the USA. My exchange was fully funded by the USA Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs under the FSA/FLEX Program (Freedom Support Act/Future Leaders Exchange Program). This had been an experience of a lifetime - meeting new people, learning a new language and lifestyle, exploring American history and values, and at the same time learning to more appreciate my native country and family.
